Beginning on or around Monday, September 14, the contractor may begin work before 9:00 a.m. Depending on the location of the work, one lane will continue to remain open. During morning arrival, the open lane will be used for traffic traveling east toward the high school from Mt. Airy Road. During afternoon dismissal, the traffic pattern will shift, and the available lane will be used for traffic traveling west away from the high school toward Mt. Airy Road.

Important Safety Reminder

We are asking that students NOT walk to/from school using Lake Road. Much of the sidewalk along Lake Road is expected to remain closed, potentially into October. We know that some parents drop off/pick up students on Spencer at Lake Road; however, portions of the sidewalk in that area will not be accessible and the work zone is currently in that area. Walking in the roadway, particularly during the busy arrival and dismissal periods, is unsafe, as is walking through the work zone.
