The meeting was called to order at 8:01 p.m. by President Bracaglia.

Statement of Public Notice

This was a regular Meeting of the Board of Education of Bernards Township.
Notice of the time and place of this meeting was provided and copies of that
resolution were forwarded to the official newspapers as designated by the
Board of Education and to the Township Clerk and a copy of the notice was
posted on the bulletin board of Cedar Hill Annex.

Recognition of 2000 Ridge High School Baseball Team

BE IT RESOLVED THAT

1)

The Bernards Township Board of Education does hereby adopt the following resolution:

WHEREAS, the Bernards Township Board of Education is pleased to honor the 2000 Ridge High School Baseball Team which won the NJSIAA State Group II championship, and

WHEREAS, in the Group II championship game, the Ridge Red Devils defeated the West Morris Mendham Minutemen by a score of 4 to 1, and

WHEREAS, during the stellar 2000 season, the Ridge Red Devils compiled a record of 26 wins, and 6 losses, and

WHEREAS, in becoming the State Group II champions, the members of the Ridge Red Devils Baseball team demonstrated their impressive baseball skill and exceptional team unity; and,

WHEREAS, the team's members are:
Jonathan Bauer, James DaSilva, T.J. DaSilva, Erik Dial, Michael Edgar, Robert Falato, Christopher Ignaut, Ayman Khalil, Mark Littles, Steven Luongo, Edward McClain, Michael Morano, Ryan Postal, Sean Schofield, Andrew West

WHEREAS, under the capable guidance of Head Coach Bill Giglio and Assistant Coaches Gerry Schofield, Bob Cantono and Chris Casamento, these outstanding young athletes performed with praiseworthy determination; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BERNARDS TOWNSHIP BOARD OF EDUCATION,
that the Board hereby honors and congratulates the 2000 Ridge High School Baseball team and commends the team's players and coaches for their exceptional efforts and athletic excellence as evidenced by their accomplishments, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be presented to the 2000 Ridge High School Baseball Team.

On motion by Ms. Borushko, seconded by Ms. Woolford, the foregoing was approved by all present.

Student Representative Christina Shurts mentioned hallway crowding in 400, 500 and 600 wings. She also reported that the cafeteria was working well and that student parking was adequate.

Business Administrator Joseph Barcellona updated the Board on the driveway at Ridge High School, the water main break at Cedar Hill School and the Verizon telephone cabinet at William Annin Middle School.

The Board Curriculum Committee will hold its next meeting on Friday, September 15th at 9:00 a.m. in the Board Conference Room.

Public Forum on Other Than Agenda Items

Comments were made regarding use of facilities, DARE Program, gifted and talented program at elementary and middle school level, release of testing reports and aid for construction.

Questions were asked about the status of Project Adventure and the capacity at Mount Prospect School.

On motion by Mr. Finazzo, seconded by Mr. Miller, and approved by all present the meeting was adjourned at 9:13 p.m.
