Welcome to the Liberty Corner Library Media Center!

 "Reading Can Take You Anywhere"

Wizards of Words 2007 visiting authors this year: Brian Cleary, Cynthia DeFelice, Lisa Mullarkey and Kevin O'Malley.

Hi, welcome to the Liberty Corner School Library website!  My name is Deb Goetjen, and I am the library media specialist.  I am thrilled to be in such a wonderful school where teachers, administrators and parents all believe that libraries and reading matter.

Our collection consists of over twenty thousand print and nonprint materials including books, magazines, videos, audio books, and read-along tape and book sets.  We have a wide range of parent resources as well that may be checked out at any time.

Mrs. Beth Fain is our part-time library assistant, working 3 hours/day.  We also have many parent volunteers, and without Mrs. Fain and the help of these wonderful volunteers, the library would not be able to function as smoothly as it does.

Children of all grade levels may come into the media center at any time during the school day to browse, check books out, study, or research.  Children are always welcome, and I encourage them to come in and get more books as soon as they return those they have finished reading.  Usually a child can check out a book even if he/she has forgotten to return one.

My role in the school is to create and grow a love of reading and literature in your children and teach them the information skills they will need to be successful lifelong learners.  To achieve these goals, we spend a lot of time READING and discussing books, as well as learning about and using the resources in the library.

At Liberty Corner, our goal is to put the library books in the hands of the children, not on the library shelves, so that you may all experience the joy of reading to and with your child.  Reading to your child is an important way for you as parents to help them learn to love reading and be successful in school!

If you have any questions about the library program, books, or need assistance with your child's reading interests, please do not hesitate to contact either myself or Mrs. Fain.
